Bridging construction gaps, this team merges the virtual and physical realms to proactively solve problems, enhance efficiency, and develop innovative solutions. Applying engineering expertise, lean thinking, and advanced technological solutions, they oversee projects from preconstruction through construction, guided by lean ideology to minimize waste and maximize value. By integrating services, coordinating planning, and leveraging technology, the Catalyst team shapes the future of project delivery, delivering timely, efficient, and top-tier service for DOC’s sustained excellence.

BIM/VDC
Our VDC team acts as the digital construction managers for the lifecycle of our projects, bringing 3D data from numerous sources into one environment in order to better estimate, plan and coordinate our projects to avoid issues in construction. Our VDC tools enhance collaboration across our construction team, design team and stakeholders, allowing everyone to visualize and better understand potential challenges and identify solutions early, when cost and schedule impact is minimal.

Planning & Lean
Starting in Preconstruction, we begin working on our master schedule. Unlike most companies, we don’t just stop with the traditional CPM schedule that is typically created by one person in a silo. Instead, we use Last Planner System, and engage people ultimately responsible for getting the work done, the foremen. Together, we look for ways to improve the schedule and achieve greater schedule reliability and production control.

Quality Control & Assurance
DOC’s quality control and assurance manager oversees the development and implementation of the standard Quality Control Manual for all projects. Through the coordination of pre-installation kickoff meetings with our subcontractors, we aim to mitigate potential issues and set our project teams up for success. Through the oversight and review of testing requirements and results, we ensure that what is installed meets the required quality metrics for each project.

Field Technology
The Catalyst team is continuously improving our field technology solutions for data collection, creating streamlined construction workflows, and project delivery refinement. Additionally, they help integrate new technologies into existing project management software and processes. This includes a drone program and training initiatives for seamless adoption and utilization.
